Emily Moores (USA) is an installation and mixed media artist whose artwork consists of hand-cut and ornately layered materials. In 2020, Emily was selected as one of the Women to Watch 2020 by the Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery in collaboration with the Ohio Advisory Group of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. She has shown her work nationally, including the Akron Art Museum (OH) and the Edward A. Whitney Gallery at Sheridan College (WY).
«I spent my time during the residency reflecting on the patterns I use. Most of my inspiration comes from things that surround me: my furniture, my wallpaper, my tea cups. I love family heirlooms, and our connection to the patterns. I feel that the WALK & TALK residency was a great way to start 2024. This is a new start to rethinking my relationship to the patterns I’ve been using for so long».
