At BONFIRE it is essential to create and nurture community, connecting artists from around the world and providing a safe space for exchange and cross-pollination. On this occasion, it was Dina Abdul Karim and Emily Moores, both currently based in the United States, who participated in the seven-day WALK & TALK residency. With different research and creative processes, but also with many interests in common, both have discovered during the week of exchange, new prisms and perspectives of their work. After many conversations about colour, patterns, working methodologies, and their socio-cultural implications, Dina and Emily immersed themselves in a practice inspired by each other’s work. Always magical to witness the spark between two, no longer, strangers.
