ILKO + NUNO

Ilko Koestler and Nuno Sales come from different backgrounds, work in incredibly disparate disciplines and are more than twenty years apart. Their meeting and participation in the Walk & Talk residency was magical; spontaneous and incredibly natural. As if they had known each other all their lives, they chatted for hours, searching for common elements and interests, creating a reciprocal universe around trees and their symbolism in both Germany and Portugal. Around paper as a simple and valuable material that both use in their creations; printmaking in the case of Ilko and conceptual, sculptural and performative art in the case of Nuno.
