There is an ocean and five hours between Portugal and Canada, the countries of origin of Filipa Tojal, visual artist and inveterate traveller, and Guillaume Côté Roux, sculptor and sailor. Their meeting during the Walk & Talk residency was an intense and fascinating experience. From Japan to Nova-Scotia, from the beach to the hills, they managed to make each other travel despite the strict confinement in which they found themselves due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Walk & Talk residency offered Filipa and Guillaume a space and time that they were able to make the most of, nurturing on each other’s experience and sensibility and opening themselves up to the new influences. The development of their creative process changed, and so did their view and perspective of the world.
