BONFIRE is a proposal made by artists for artists, unfolding a diverse program of online artist residencies and personal art guidance. Currently the offer includes two types of programs with different duration, objectives and levels of engagement. The main program, under the same name as the platform: BONFIRE, and a shorter and more spontaneous proposal called WALK & TALK.

A six-week thematic program with a range of four to six participants, providing a space to exchange and cooperation between international artists and agents of the cultural field. The residency focuses on a specific theme and promotes research and artistic development around it, but it is not necessary to have a work in progress or a line of research previously related to it. The topic and its theoretical and visual framework aim to invite the participants to a certain atmosphere and proposal, but with total freedom.

Residents are encouraged to participate actively, interacting with the fellows, researching, experimenting in their creative process, being open to artist talks, open studios and group proposals. An outcome and final presentation are required, as well as sharing the process and development of the work on a weekly basis.

Fluent English is necessary for a complete experience.

walk & talk —
residence info

A seven-day program with two participants, created in order to promote free exchange and daily interaction. BONFIRE proposes the matches, prepares a mutual presentation and offers guidance and tools for the week, providing the opportunity to engage in a creative and productive dialogue.

The focus of this program is on the people who come together and their encounter. There is no concrete theme nor prescribed outcomes even if sharing the experience would be necessary (through an essay, screenshots, video or any other possibility). Residents are encouraged to participate actively.

Residencies take place in English but Spanish can also be an option as far as other artists apply for it and we can organize a match. Please, state your language preference in your application form.
