Olga Shcheblykina (Ukraine, 1986) is a visual artist creating abstract and expressionist paintings. Olga studied at the University of Hertfordshire (UK) and is currently pursuing further education at Kunst University in Linz (Austria). Using art as a form of self-expression, she pays special attention to maintaining spontaneity in her practice by using vivid palettes, fleshy, biomorphic shapes and unsettling textures. Throughout 2021-22, Olga participated in different group exhibitions in Greece, Austria and the UK.

«The residency began on February 14th and on February 24th the war began. Everything that I did before, all ideas and plans were swept away by the catastrophic and unbearable events. In my attempts to paint, the fake truth of interbellum revealed itself to me and I found myself in front of a work created from scraps of the former world, reproducing the horrific reality of the present.»
