Bruce Dunbar is a visual artist working in the expanded field of photography. Combining photographic processes and natural sources, his work is an attempt at capturing an impression, an inescapable essence of what once was, the invisible force through which matter changes. His work highlights the shifting effects and interconnectedness of environment, nature and light looking for subtle transformations and transcendental qualities. It is this evolving space he acknowledges and seeks to record.

«Reflecting on my time with Bonfire, three themes became apparent: openness, awareness and growth. Openness – each week, I noticed an opening up to new ways of being, seeing, thinking and making.  Awareness – being aware of awareness became clear to me during the visibility event where I acted out my own transformation. Growth- So many seeds were planted. I’m looking forward to seeing which ones will grow, to provide sustenance, to bear fruit to plant more seeds.»
